First International Seminar

 GENERAL INFORMATION

 

We are pleased to welcome you to our first International Seminar, part of our Osteopathic Master Class Series.
We are proud to have New Zealand osteopath Andrew Wilson as our host for this seminar.
The seminar will be held at The Athens Callirhoe Hotel (www.tac.gr), where participants will also be provided accommodation for the duration of the seminar.

About The Course :

This course aims to bring you up to date with the most recent research and enhance your clinical skills. The way we manage our patients and their injuries provides the optimal platform for our osteopathic skills. The program will extend your knowledge and challenge your approach to patients, whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced practitioner.

The course will have a theoretical and practical component. 

The working language of the course is English.
A full set of notes will be provided, either printed or on cd. 

The course outline is as follows:

Day 1 (Friday, June 20- half day):

Update from the 8th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Pain, held in Dubai in October 2013

Day 2 (Saturday, June 21) Osteopathic practice Master Class

1. Understanding the injury process
2. Developing a model for injury management
3. Why Placebo is your friend!
4. Develop an effective treatment plan
5. What works and why? – an evidence based review
6. Are you an effective practitioner? -
7. Tools for patient management
8. Tools for managing chronic pain

Day 3 (Sunday, June 22)Evidence Based Management of Low Back and Pelvic Pain

1. Epidemiology, injury processes
2. Simple LBP
3. Complex LBP
4. Evidence based review of effective prevention, treatment and management
5. Managing disc problems
6. Pelvic pain
7. Exercise rehabilitation

Venue

The venue for the seminar is the conference room of the Athens Callirhoe Hotel (www.tac.gr), 

situated next to the historical centre of Athens, 

where participants will also be provided accommodation for the duration of the seminar.

Cost

The fee is divided into two distinct parts:

1. Participation in the seminar (all coffee breaks included)

250€ per person, or 200€ if booked by April 10th

Made payable directly to our bank account

2. Hotel accommodation for three nights plus breakfast

310€ per single room OR 325€ per twin/double room

Made payable through our tour operator

The total cost (including 3 nights' accommodation in a single or double room with breakfast) depends on whether the accommodation is a single or a double/twin bedroom:

Single Room : 560€ per person or 510€ if booked by April 10th, 2014.
Double/Twin Room: 575€ per person or 525€ if booked by April 10th, 2014.
(If two participants share a double/twin room, they will also share the accommodation cost)

The total fee covers:

  • Hotel accommodation for three nights plus breakfast
  • Participation in the seminar
  • All coffee breaks
  • Full set of notes available via a web link.
